Parenting
Sometimes it feels like 90 percent of raising children is trying to not be a failure. Failure is really not an option. Eleven years later I still struggle with being a consistent disciplinarian. My constant hope is that I am successfully mothering two girls that will grow up to be positively contributing members of society. I have fumbled and continue to make mistakes daily, sometimes hourly. But what I do know is that being a mindful parent who acknowledges their own short comings, and strives to do better matters. If you’re parenting solo, and all you can do beyond that is to pour a glass of wine, lock a door to soak in a tub or dish out cereal and a banana for dinner, then we are kindred souls.
I just simmer down my parenting to love, faith, education, mental and physical well being... and importantly daily fits of giggles. Failure is not an option. The options we do have are deciding what to make for dinner together!
